518 Apartamentos poderão ser vendidos a crédito de longo prazo. Destinados a jovens, funcionários ou agentes do Estado, o preço proposto é de 7.875,00 MT por mês durante 25 anos. O Ministério das Obras Públicas e Habitação (MOPH) propõe ao Governo a venda, por empréstimo de longo prazo, de 518 apartamentos da Vila Olímpica dos 844 existentes. A proposta, na posse do jornal “O País”, sugere que outros 250 apartamentos sejam vendidos a pronto pagamento e os restantes 80 destinados ao Ministério da Juventude e Desportos. O lote de 518 apartamentos será vendido num prazo de 25 anos a uma taxa de juro de 5%. O dinheiro servirá para alimentar programas de habitação e garantir o financiamento bancário para a construção de novas casas. O MOPH pretende disponibilizar os apartamentos em condições acessíveis aos cidadãos, tendo em conta a alta taxa de juro à habitação. ANC Youth League president Julius Malema owns two houses worth almost R5 million and cars worth R1.2 million, on an alleged salary of R20,000 a month. The Star on Friday reported that Malema bought a three-bedroom home in Sandown, Johannesburg for R3.6 million in December last year. He has another home in Polokwane for which he paid R1 million. The report said the Sandown home was luxurious, with three bedrooms, an office, a TV room, a lounge, a pool and a large garden. It was here that Malema entertained guests at a house-warming party last year which hit headlines after a police reservist said he was assaulted by the youth league leader. This was after neighbours complained about the noise and mess. The nation's highest court refused to stay the execution of Davis, who had been scheduled to die by lethal injection at 7pm EDT (11pm GMT) at a prison in Jackson, Georgia. It took the court more than four hours to issue its one-sentence order, an unusually long time in such cases. The delay gave rise to hopes that the judges would agree to a stay.
